“This really is a delightful little gem of a cottage…”

Antoinette S

We spent 18 months renovating Kits Cottage. It’s an old cottage but now brought up to date with gas central heating, modern insulation and a kitchen. We’d love it if you came to stay.

If you’ve stayed we’d appreciate a review on TripAdvisor and/or Google Business.

Hythe is a traditional English coastal town with lots of small side streets and a buzzing High Street, which is easily reached from the cottage. There is a rich choice of restaurants whilst nearby Folkestone offers even more options. Romney Marsh, on the other hand, offers an escape into what feels like a remote lost part of England.

Folkestone and the Creative Quarter

Folkestone has a thriving Creative Quarter and a recently renovated Harbour Arm. The Old High Street is full of independent shops and caf├ęs. Hythe offers a quieter pace of life with lovely canal walks, a steam railway and a range of charity, antique and craft shops.

Trips Elsewhere

Hythe is also a good base for trips to London, Dover, Canterbury, Rye, Rochester, Margate and all places in Kent. France is visible on a clear day and another good day trip by ferry or shuttle. The shuttle entrance is ten minutes away.

Things to Do and Explore

Hythe offers a quieter pace of life but there is no shortage of things to do and explore. You can start your walk or cycle ride from the cottage and not return for many hours or take a shorter walk to the sea or nearby park. Explore the options here.

We also have a flat nearby in Sandgate which is also available to rent:

The little railway that likes to think big…and about ten minutes away from the cottage.
